The Career Pathways’ Speaker Series offers a series of panels that allow students to learn about post high school opportunities in education, insight about life skills, and what is like to work in different careers. By attending these panels, students have the chance to hear insight and suggestions from dynamic community guests who volunteer their time to share helpful information and real world perspective.
The Speakers Series panels are one hour long and focused on our guest’s answering student questions. We often host the panels in partnership with classroom teachers who connect their curriculum to the experiences and information that is shared by our guests. So far for the 2016-2017 school year, scheduled panels include sessions on government service and civics, leadership, careers in food services, tips for college search and financial aid, manufacturing careers, entrepreneurship, travel abroad programs, and insight from parents whose students recently graduated high school and have now transitioned on to college.
