McKinleyville High School
McKinleyville High School school serves a broad area in northern Humboldt County including the communities of McKinleyville, Big Lagoon, Fieldbrook, Orick and Trinidad. Staff at McKinleyville High School understands their responsibility to ensure that every student has access to quality education and support services designed to meet individual needs. By working collaboratively with parents, students, community, Board of Trustees and District administration, programs are designed and implemented around the needs of the student.
The Arcata/Six Rivers and McKinleyville High School Career & College Centers provide students with resources for planning life after high school. One on one counseling sessions allow students to talk about how to apply for college, look for scholarships, write a resume, explore career options, set up a Job Shadow, or get their questions answered about other options for after high school. The Career & College Centers are key to advancing the Career Pathways goals, because it is often in these one on one counseling sessions where we can help students find the information that they need to make informed decisions about their futures. Career Pathways staffs consistent office hours at both Arcata/SRCHS (Darcy Robins is the AHS C&CC coordinator and also works 20+ hours each week) and at McKinleyville High Schools.
